Position Brief
The Data Support Specialist (Visualisation and Reporting) will play a key role in supporting the Literacy for Life Foundation’s data management needs, focusing on data visualisation and analytics to support reporting and practice improvement. The position involves collaboration with Campaign and National teams to strengthen our use of data to tell stories and make change. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to advancing positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through the transformative power of literacy.

You will be a passionate changemaker and advocate for social justice and the rights of First Nations people. To be successful in this position, you will be adept at data visualisation, have excellent attention to detail and be able to use your technical and analytical skills to support the real life, daily activities of the Literacy for Life Foundation’s literacy Campaigns. With excellent communications skills, you will work well in a culturally diverse and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with Data Team members and the local Campaign Teams to create a wide range of meaningful and flexible reports that allow data to be returned to community
• Work with Data Team members to ensure that all data is entered by local Campaign Teams in a timely manner and is clean
• Work with the National Team to make key data available for evaluation and improvement
• Collaborate with the Fundraising Team to tell campaign stories with data
• Work with external data consultants to maintain our Salesforce database
• Enter participant data into the Workforce Australia system according to grant requirements
Selection Criteria
Essential
1. Expertise in data visualisation, including the use of tools such as Tableau, Power BI
2. Excellence in analytic and technical skills (including data analysis) and attention to detail
3. Familiarity with Salesforce NPSP (note it is not a requirement to be Salesforce Certified)
4. Understanding of cultural sensitivity and strong adaptability to communicate effectively in a diverse workplace
5. Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
Desirable
1. Experience in graphic design
2. Experience with SQL
3. Familiarity with Workforce Australia system
4. Familiarity with SEE funding requirement models
5. Experience working with Aboriginal communities or organisations
6. Experience in a community development or not-for-profit organisation.
7. A willingness to travel occasionally
