Adult literacy is in the news via this Sydney Morning Herald article, The Secret Shame Stopping 3 Million Australians From Doing Their Job Properly.

It is hard to think of a better investment than community-led literacy Campaigns. Local people supporting each other to build skills and confidence.

Headlines like this make us think of Literacy for Life Foundation Executive Director, Jack Beetson’s quote:

“That shame belongs to us that can read and write … that we’ve allowed this to happen.”
